I said in the intro that digital art is better to look at than traditional art, I disagree with this statement now. After looking into the possible widest gamut (total color area covered by the medium, a subset of what the eye can see) it seems most rgb monitors actually have a slightly smaller gamut than traditional paint. Although as you can see in the video, there are advantages to both. The biggest advantage in traditional art is the fact that it's physical. I love touching my art afterwards, and I love how long it takes to make it. I spent around 100 hours in total on this piece and enjoyed every second of it. It took over 2 months from start to finish. I began with researching different aesthetics and planning an extremely large project where this would be but a single entry into it. When I realized the scope of this project, would've taken me over a year to complete, I reevaluated my approach. Now I plan to break up the large project into smaller bits, once I've completed a few smaller projects I will endeavor on this larger one. I still plan on using the footage from this video in the cumulative larger one, but I needed to get this out there. The producing of a youtube video can be a long or a short one, but this was a monumental effort which I felt like I needed to get some satisfaction out of while I still had it on my mind. So while I publish this video I still plan on creating the larger one.
