Was I wrong about the Rlaarlo AM-D12 on 3s? Have we fixed it now?

Rlaarlo have certainly been popular lately with the release of the AK917, can the AM-D12 live up to the hype? Is this just the AM-X12 with a new coat of paint? I think those scale details such as LEDs and roll cage make it a little bit special.
