Welcome to Martin Dies Jr State Park!
This is the one I've been excited about for a very long time and it exceeded every expectation I had.
Developed in the 60's and covering 705 acres, this expansion of lush greenery and abundant wildlife is a very unique area of Texas.
Life is all around.....some of which you can see, most of which you cannot. This is the Big Thicket region of the state and I believe one of the most underrated.
There's just something about this place....there are no vast horizons, no mountain peaks, no valleys,
the ocean is about 100 miles away....but there's something about the aura, the haunting beauty and the mysteriousness of this extremely tranquil environment.
I LOVE THIS PARK! I didn't want to leave.
This is the best one I've been to.
