Who does this? Who pulls a beat up old Dodge truck out of a field, home builds a ramp bed for it and fixes "everything" wrong with it in three weeks, parks their priceless two owner Demon 340 on the bed, and tows it 6,000 miles across America to lose a drag race? Nobody. And that's probably a good thing, to be honest. It's definitely one of those don't-try-this-at-home type situations.
But today, that's exactly what I'm doing. I've got a 1992 Dodge D350 with a Cummins under the hood, a classic Mopar A-body drag racer on the back, a small collection of spare parts, a backpack full of socks and T-shirts, a credit card to swipe at every fuel station from here to Tennessee, and some big dreams. It's the great ice cream cake drag race road trip! It's "Prudence's Big Adventure!" It's "Turning Left Across America!" It's the 1970s drag racing scene all over again. It's the kind of crazy crap I've been dreaming about for a decade. So let's hit the road and see what breaks. I mean, really, what's the worst that could happen?
