Manipur: Security Forces Fire Tear Gas as Land Dispute Turns Chaotic in Athokpam

The situation grew tense in the Athokpam area in Thoubal district of Manipur today as security forces fired tear gas shells and smoke bombs to disperse an irate mob.

As per sources, the incident broke out over an alleged encroachment issue involving a house construction at Khangabok. The construction apparently crossed its allotted land limit.
