Discovering The Village Of Batad 🇵🇭

The most adventurous experience I am doing in the Philippines so far! It starts in Banaue, here in the north of the country by looking for a reasonably priced ride to the village of Batad. After a bit of research and bargain and a walk around town I find someone to bring me there on a tricycle.

On the way we can see the beautiful landscapes of this wonderful part of the Philippines, this is a MUST GO destination if you love nature like me!! On the way we stop at the first checkpoint to enjoy the “small” rice terrace which is already so beautiful to me.

Then we head up to the village of Batad while it starts raining but after reaching another checkpoint on the way, flat tires… I have to finish it by walking by my own… Plus, my driver is waiting for me at 2pm up there, I need to hurry! After quickly enjoying the view closer to my destination I go down the mountain and the real adventure begins.

I cross a lot of jeeps and typical filipino vehicles on the way half way where tourists usually stop and cross friendly people on the way.

When I arrived on the top of Batad village, I am SHOCKED. The view in INSANE!! I’ve never seen something like this in my life and it’s literally a SLAP IN THE FACE! It’s been a long I haven’t had a travel shock like this…

As I have limited time I quickly go down crossing a elementary school and a few kids, the more I go down the more impressive the rice terrace gets.

20 minutes later by going against the rain and tiny paths I reach the bottom and at the level of the rice fields and can admire what I came for to see, the beauty of the Philippines.

I forget that I also have to go back and climb the mountain from the bottom to the top again. Fortunately, a delicious hot drink is waiting for me up there, before to go back to Banaue…
