RED SINIGANG NA BANGUS ❤️
Sinigang na bangus (or milkfish) in sour broth is an all time favorite dish of Filipinos.
The sour taste of tamarind gives the distinctive taste of the broth.
You can also use boneless bangus belly in cooking sinigang if you don’t like to eat the fish while removing the spiny fish bones.
Instead of using fresh tomatoes (which I don't have at that time), I used tomato sauce for this recipe. And it turned out so good.
There are many ways of cooking sinigang and ingredients vary depending on the availability of the ingredients. Pork, beef, fish or seafoods are used in cooking sinigang.
I also tried this recipe using pork and beef.
Ingredients:
1 k. bangus fish, cleaned, deboned and sliced
1 c. water
1 pc. onion, diced
1 pkg. (115 gms.) tomato sauce
1 pkg. (44 gms.) sinigang sa sampalok mix (tamarind soup mix)
2 pcs. eggplant, sliced
1 bunch kangkong, cut into 3" long
