'SAHA' Mental Wellness Centre | An Interior Architecture and Design Project | IIAD

Mental wellness deserves more than clinical white walls and isolated corridors. Neelanjna Oberoi’s (Interior Architecture and Design, Batch 2021-2025), major design project, “Saha – One Who Supports,” reimagines mental health care spaces with a compassionate, inclusive lens. Set in a quiet residential neighborhood of Agra, this thoughtfully designed mental wellness center focuses on emotional healing, personal growth, and community care.

Unlike traditional institutional environments, this center blends transparency, natural light, and therapeutic design strategies to foster a safe and welcoming atmosphere. From interactive art spaces and reflection zones to outdoor healing gardens and therapy rooms, every element invites calm and connection. The layout is designed to eliminate enclosed, anxious spaces, encouraging movement, openness, and self-guided healing.

By integrating programs like group therapy, workshops, and peer support alongside private sessions, the space destigmatizes mental health care and allows individuals to engage at their own pace. This project demonstrates how architecture and interior design can become a powerful ally in shaping inclusive, sensitive, and empowering wellness environments.
