In this special Women in Engineering edition of our Bite-Sized Corrosion series, we sit down with Nomsombuluko Hadebe, a corrosion engineer whose career spans more than 15 years at the forefront of physical metallurgy and corrosion science.
From her early days at Mintek under the guidance of inspiring mentors, to her work in failure analysis, hydrogen embrittlement, and dental implant corrosion, Nomsombuluko has tackled research challenges across industries. Now at Armscor Dockyard in Cape Town, she applies her expertise to the South African Navy’s corrosion division, all while completing her PhD.
