When learning, give yourself a design goal, set a realistic deadline and establish a consistent workflow. In this episode, we will be demonstrating these processes step by step. We will be taking the theme of “scientific research ship” and expanding it into several key frames.
The first step always involves finding good references. Next, list out the design objectives and set a deadline. Third, use rough sketches to find the composition and initial design direction. Finally, do a mood and lighting pass by using photo-bashing to speed up the process.
By following this production workflow, you will have a clear direction before committing to the final image. This will help you save time and frustration down the road.
