HKBU has established the Centre for Chinese Herbal Medicine Drug Development, which is equipped with comprehensive and cutting-edge facilities that can standardise and internationalise the development of Chinese medicine drugs and nurture talent for the industry. The Centre is now using Chinese medicine formulas supported by research evidence as the foundation for new drugs for chronic constipation and ulcerative colitis. In the future, the Centre will work closely with Hong Kong's first Chinese Medicine Hospital and contribute to the industrialisation of the Chinese medicine sector.
