Garden tour: The Bendigo Botanic Gardens 'Garden For The Future'

Happy Boxing day! This week on The Horticulturalists we're visiting The Bendigo Botanic gardens, but not to visit the heritage garden - which we will at some point! - but to visit an entirely new garden only laid out in 2017! Called The Garden For The Future it's an experiment in what might work for the Bendigo area as the climate continues to change. Already quite extreme with sub zero centigrade winters and summers that have reached 50oC (122F!) it's a challenge to find plants that will thrive. So The Garden For The Future has an Australian section, and exotic section and a section that's a blend of the two. We'll meet gardener Lonain Burnett who's in charge of this section of the garden to hear his take on this experiment, and dive in to find some things that peek our interest!
