Adi Kailash Road Trip Part 7 | Dharchula to Budhi Hill-Top Campsite via Tawaghat | Himalayan Camping Adventure 🏔️

In Part 7 of our Adi Kailash Road Trip from Gujarat in our XUV500, the adventure continues as we begin Day 8, driving from Dharchula towards Gunji, with an initial plan to camp at Tawaghat.

As soon as we started our journey, we encountered our first challenge — a roadblock caused by mountain cutting work. After waiting for about 10–15 minutes, the route reopened, and our journey resumed. However, the road ahead was filled with several such interruptions due to road widening and construction work — this very route is being developed as part of the future Kailash Mansarovar Highway, which will connect India to the sacred mountain region.

When we finally reached Tawaghat, we spotted a beautiful camping location near the old bridge. Excited, we approached an on-duty police officer to seek permission for camping. Although they allowed us, they advised against it — explaining that the nights here are hot and the area often has mosquito problems. Following their suggestion, we decided to skip Tawaghat and continue our drive towards Budhi instead.

The drive to Budhi was tough — narrow, uneven, and rocky mountain roads, but surrounded by breathtaking landscapes that made every bump worthwhile. By around 7 p.m., we finally reached Budhi village, and after crossing it, we discovered an incredible hilltop spot overlooking the valley below. It felt like the perfect place to set up camp!

As darkness began to fall, we quickly pitched our tents and prepared dinner under the cold Himalayan sky. The winds were strong, and the temperature dropped rapidly, so after a warm, simple meal, everyone retreated to their tents and cars for a peaceful night’s rest in the mountains.

In the next part, we’ll continue our thrilling journey from Budhi to Gunji, where we’ll decide our next destination — Adi Kailash or Om Parvat! So stay tuned for more adventure, divine beauty, and offbeat Himalayan exploration. 🌌
