Two barges took part in the 2021 Passage Match on 26th June 2021 - Edith May and Blue Mermaid.
The race starts on the River Medway in the dead of night at 0200hrs and heads over to the River Orwell in Suffolk, before the barge crews assemble in the historic waterside pub, The Butt and Oyster.
Despite the low turnout, the race was a gripping encounter, with the barges playing cat and mouse throughout the near 50 mile course, and a wonderfully close finish.
