Testing supposedly Stormproof Matches – Are they really windproof & waterproof?

TNT Outdoors presents: A product test of “Stormproof” matches (a.k.a. “Hurricane Matches”). Are these matches actually windproof and waterproof? Join us as we find out!!! We tested 2 different brands of these matches – listed below. I was originally planning on only making this video as a “Short”, however, during editing I decided that in order to provide the appropriate context for these tests, I could not cut this down to under 60 seconds, while still providing a thorough, complete, and transparent testing video. That is why this video is in “Vertical” Format, like “Shorts”. I still plan on releasing a highlight Short, however, I just felt that a longer video was needed to fully represent the testing experience & results, and the Short I create for this will now be able to link back to this “Full Test” video for additional context.

There are many types of these, and I imagine they are all pretty similar. You can find them at almost any Outdoor, Camping, etc. store, including Super Walmarts. However, for your convenience, you can find additional information as well as online purchase options, at the Product Links* below:

UCO Stormproof Match Kit with Waterproof Case, 25 Stormproof Matches and 3 Strikers: I think I prefer these matches of the 2 we tested, they did not burn quite as long, but they seemed to burn a little “hotter” and better. They also came with 3 extra strikers inside the waterproof case, which is definitely beneficial because the cardboard-like Strikers are NOT waterproof:

Pine Mountain Premium Weatherproof Matches - 25 Matches That Burn up to 25 Seconds. These matches worked well also, but maybe didn’t burn quite as “hot”, and performed slightly worse (but still worked) during the “storm test”. They did seem to burn a little longer though:
