JSGA Lesson 15: This Metal Riff will Challenge You! (Style: Thrash Meets Power Metal)

Are you ready for a fun and challenging metal riff? And are you ready to play multiple metal guitar methods?

First, you're using what I like to call 'variations of power chords.' This takes you beyond the typical power chord (1st and 5th note). Instead, you're moving that following note around and getting different shapes and textures of your metal rhythm playing.

Next, you'll quickly go back and forth between alternate picking and down picking. This is going to build up your right hand (or picking hand) technique.

Lastly, there are some really cool single-note riffs you'll be playing.

As always, I encourage you to not only learn these riffs but also expand on them and make them your own. YOU are your own guitarist and creator!
