SACRAMENTO, Calif. – On Sunday evening, Zach Edey and the Memphis Grizzlies made sure that the 41-point win against the Sacramento Kings on Nov. 20 was no fluke. They beat the Kings 115-107 at Golden 1 Center.
Edey had 32 points, 17 rebounds, and 5 blocked shots for the Grizzlies (9-12), winners of 5 of their last 6 games. He made 16 of 20 shots from the field and collected 6 of Memphis’s 13 offensive rebounds in 29 minutes.
Cam Spencer had 16 points and 4 3-pointers, while Jaylen Wells, who grew up in nearby Folsom, added 15 points and 3 rebounds. Jaren Jackson Jr. and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had 13 points each for the Grizzlies.
Memphis made 45 of 86 shots from the floor (52.3%), pulled down 52 rebounds, 28 assists, and had 23 turnovers to still claim the victory. The Grizzlies have won their last 4 road games.
DeMar DeRozan had 23 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals for the Kings (5-16), who have lost their last 3 games after winning 2 straight contests. The Kings are 3-7 at Golden 1 Center and 2-9 on the road.
Malik Monk had 21 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 blocked shots, while Zach LaVine added 19 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals for the Kings, who have lost 11 of their last 13 games. Keegan Murray had 12 points and 5 steals.
The Grizzlies made 10 of their 1st 16 shots from the floor to take a 23-15 lead in the opening quarter. Memphis led 26-17 before the Kings ended the frame on a 17-5 run, punctuated by a triple from Nique Clifford, giving Sacramento a 35-31 lead.
A defensive personnel unit of Malik Monk, Keon Ellis, Nique Clifford, Precious Achiuwa, and Maxime Raynaud got the Kings gave the Kings a 4-point lead over Grizzlies' lead to start the 2nd frame.
Spencer made 7-straight points to put the Kings up 46-45. The Grizzlies lead by as many as 4 points before ending the break with a 62-59 advantage. Edey had 14 points, while Spence and Wells had 13 points each.
LaVine had 14 points for the Kings at the break.
Behind Edey’s 8 points, the Grizzlies took off on a 10-1 run to start the 3rd frame. Memphis were ahead 72-59 before the Kings closed out the frame with a 28-11 run, capped off by back-to-back threes from Monk and DeRozan to lead 87-83.
The Grizzlies scored 11 consecutive points to lead 94-87 before the Kings got on the board in the final quarter. LaVine tied the game 99-all on a 3-pointer at the 5:48 mark. The Kings led 103-102 after a basket by Murray.
At that juncture, Edey went to work on both ends of the floor before the Grizzlies clocked out for the night. He scored 8 of Memphis’s last 10 points on dunks, put backs, and alley oops. He also recorded 2 key blocks in the last 3:39 of the game.
The Kings have lost 77% of their games thus far, with 61 more on the NBA schedule.

OUT: Domantas Sabonis was out with a left knee injury, and Dennis Schröder sat out with left hip soreness.
Grizzlies
OUT: Star guard Ja Morant is out due to injury (his seventh consecutive missed game) due to a right calf strain, among several other key players

Kings: Would’ve been on the road for a 4-game swing (Houston on Dec. 3, Miami, Indiana, Portland), but in between will play the Denver Nuggets on Dec. 11, at G1C.
