🛒 After using the Tamron 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD lens for over 2 years on my Sony APS-C mirrorless camera (Sony a6700), I wanted to share my real-world, long-term user experience — not just specs and lab tests.
This lens has literally been my go-to all-in-one travel companion. From wide landscapes to distant telephoto wildlife, from street photography to handheld travel videos — this lens has done it all. But of course, it’s not perfect. So in this video, I break down exactly what it’s been like living with the Tamron 18-300mm for over 24 months — the good, the bad, and the unexpected.
🔍 What’s covered in this video:
00:00 – Introduction & teaser shots
01:36 – About the Lens & Why I bought the Tamron 18-300mm
09:32 –Real world usage - Photo & Video
15:10 – Pros & Cons after 2 years
21:49 – Competitors & alternatives (Sony 18-135mm, Sigma 18-50mm, etc.)
📸 My Honest Thoughts:
If you’re a Sony APS-C user looking for a versatile all-in-one zoom lens that covers everything from wide to super-telephoto, this lens is one of the most practical options available. It’s not the sharpest or fastest, but it’s reliable, lightweight, and perfect for creators who don’t want to constantly switch lenses.
After 2 years of use, I’ve shot everything from travel vlogs to pet portraits, nature shots, and cityscapes — and the Tamron 18-300mm still holds up strong. Autofocus is fast, stabilization is decent, and macro capabilities are a sweet bonus.
In this review, I’ll help you decide if it’s still worth buying in 2025, especially compared to other popular options like the Sony 18-135mm and Sigma 16-300mm.
