Khepri is one of the most fascinating deities in ancient Egyptian mythology, symbolizing rebirth, transformation, and the rising sun. Depicted as a scarab beetle or a man with a scarab beetle head, Khepri represents the morning aspect of the sun god Ra. The Egyptians believed Khepri rolled the sun across the sky each day, much like the dung beetle pushes a ball of dung across the ground.
This divine scarab came to symbolize not only the daily renewal of the sun but also eternal life and the soul’s journey. Amulets of scarabs were worn for protection and spiritual transformation, often placed on mummies to ensure safe passage to the afterlife.
