Una facile escursione su neve, con viste da fiaba: monte Maggio, Folgaria (Trentino)

Una facile escursione su neve, 330 m di dislivello per 10 km.
Punto di partenza la Chiesetta al Sacro Cuore, in zona Fondo Piccolo a Folgaria (Trentino), a 300 dal Passo Coe (quota 1.510 m)

In estate si sale per il sentiero della Pace, ma con la neve e' una pista da sci, quindi saliamo nel bosco, seguendo le tracce lasciate da sciatori fuori pista, per non affondare nella neve.
In prossimità' dell’arrivo della seggiovia Cengio Rosso, a quota 1.650, raggiungiamo il sentiero scendendo qualche metro.
Qui si aprono ampie vedute sulla valle sottostante, col paesino di Zoreri Terragnolo.
Sentiero esposto qui, poco frequentato in inverno. Comunque non ci sono particolari difficoltà tecniche.
Dopo circa 3km il sentiero si innesta sul sentiero europeo E5 che sale da passo COE, e poco dopo si raggiunge la sommità di monte Maggio (1.856 m), che è tra i comuni di Folgaria e Terragnolo.

nord-est: altopiano di Asiago
a nord: il Gruppo Cima Asta e Lagorai, Monte Cornetto e Becco di Filadonna Vetta
a sud: massiccio del Pasubio
a sud-est: valle di Laghi di Arsiero
Avremmo voluto raggiungere il Croton dei Laghi, ma la neve arriva alla cintola e rinunciamo.
Discesa dal sentiero europeo E5, verso Passo COE, ma deviamo per la Baita degli Alpini

An easy hike on snow, 330 m of altitude difference for 10 km.
Starting point the Church of the Sacred Heart, in the Fondo Piccolo area in Folgaria (Trentino), 300 from Passo Coe (altitude 1,510 m)

In summer we go up the Sentiero della Pace, but with snow it is a ski slope, so we go up into the woods, following the tracks left by off-piste skiers, so as not to sink into the snow.
Near the arrival of the Cengio Rosso chairlift, at an altitude of 1,650, we reach the path by descending a few meters.
Here there are wide views of the valley below, with the village of Zoreri Terragnolo.
Exposed path here, little frequented in winter. However, there are no particular technical difficulties.
After about 3km the path joins the European path E5 that goes up from Passo COE, and shortly after you reach the summit of Monte Maggio (1,856 m), which is between the municipalities of Folgaria and Terragnolo.

We would have liked to reach Croton dei Laghi, but the snow reaches our waist and we give up.
