@danieldonato performed two sets at The Drake in Amherst, MA on February 8, 2024.
This was my first time catching Daniel Donato live after hearing about him a couple months back, and actually ended up doing this show in Amherst and the following night in Hartford. I went to Amherst solo and taped the show but didn't record in Hartford to be a bit more present on date night.
To be honest I'm not super happy with the quality of this recording – the audio and lighting in the room weren't too great and that translates to the recording here. I want to be clear that this wasn't the crew's fault in any way; The Drake just didn't have great gear to give a full experience. I had a lot more fun in Hartford the following evening with much better sound and lighting (and subjectively I think the music was a bit better as well).
With all that being said, I still think this recording is absolutely worth a listen, but you should also check out one of the taper recordings from 2/9/24 in Hartford (audio only as far as I know, I didn't see anyone recording video). Looking forward to catching another show next time they come through town!
