When it comes to explosive conveyed materials, we work with the customer in question to design the appropriate rotary valve based on the relevant dust characteristics. Rotary valves from Scheuch COMPONENTS are also certified for conveying coal dust. In case of an explosion, a detector system immediately shuts down the rotary valve to ensure that no burning or smoldering dust is conveyed further.
The rotary valve functions as an explosion decoupling system, ensuring that the explosion cannot reach other components. The rotary valve limits the explosion to a specific component.
Taking into account certain design features, the rotary valve is a protective system that prevents the blast wave and flames from propagating into other components via connecting pipes or ducts.
