Chequered Past was a supergroup led by former Silverhead singer Michael des Barres, teamed with ex-Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones, bassist Nigel Harrison and drummer Clem Burke from Blondie, and guitarist Tony Sales, formerly of Todd Rundgren's Utopia.
The overall quality is not good but since there's no music video related to Chequered Past online, I decided to upload it anyway. I did, however, replaced the very damaged audio from the VHS tape with a high quality one taken from the digital release of their sole album. Corrections in the footage were also made whenever was possible or needed.
"Chequered Past was a prime example of a band being less than the sum of its parts, featuring musicians who were well-known on their own or for their previous musical associations. (...) Radio failed to embrace the single 'How Much is Too Much?' and the album flopped. They broke up soon after, with des Barres joining Duran Duran spin-off The Power Station for their tour. Burke would end up drumming for the Eurythmics while Sales would, several years later, become a member of David Bowie's short-lived Tin Machine project."
