Welcome to a live day at Life Skateboards on Days with Casper. Here at Life Skateboards we do everything in house. We roll the glue by hand, have the boards under pressure in the presses for 24 hours, let them cure for a week and then the boss man, Sam Koch, cuts out the shape. Then it’s my job to clean and shape the deck up to prepare it for graphic application. We are very against heat transfers, regardless of if the majority of the skateboarding industry uses it. We don’t want to damage a board for the ease of graphic application so we apply all of our graphics with hand carved Lino blocks and speedball ink, and since we use that method, we can use fabric inks to print apparel.
On these lives I’ll be talking while I work, explaining what I’m doing and bringing any negativity in the chat back to skateboarding, sobriety or just generally helping people. We talk about addiction a lot here on the channel. And I encourage you to use this as a space to share it. There may be a troll here or there, but the community we’ve gathered is wildly supportive.
If you’re liking the decks you see, check out lifeskateboard.com for over 77 shapes and more to come. We have a new website in the works right now. So if you like satisfying sanding, graphic application and good conversation (I hope) you found the right place. Hope you enjoy!
