Today we are going to see what the barrel length effect on velocity of the .357 Magnum is. Halfmilesniper breaks out a pair of Smith & Wesson Model 28 revolvers, with a 6 inch and a 4 inch barrel. The 6 inch gun is from 1959 and the 4 inch version is an NYSP duty gun from about 1980.
We'll be testing some old duty ammo...Federal 110 gr jacketed hollow points. Light and fast rounds like there were known to erode and split the forcing cones on the K Frame magnums. Lets see how fast they're running.
