In this video, we demonstrate a simple trick for coating cryo-EM grids with a thin carbon layer. This technique is quick and efficient, and we highlight the recommended tools and materials for achieving the best results.
Recommended Tools & Materials:
Scissors: Karl Hammacher Surgical Cutter, 140 mm (HSB 400-14)
Filter Paper: Whatman 41 (Catalog No. 1441-090)
Beaker: Duran Glass Beaker, 5 mL
Tweezers (Green, for grids/carbon): Dumont Style SS140, 140 mm
Tweezers (Black, for grids/carbon): Electron Microscopy Sciences, Style SM103, 120 mm
Tweezers (for paper): Dumont Style 2A (0103-2A-PO) Note: This is an improved model compared to the one shown in the video: VWR BOCH1001
