Overcoming Obstacles - Trent's Journey to the Catholic Faith

Trent grew up Baptist and was taught that the Catholic Church is "the whore of Babylon", Catholics were going to hell, and they needed to be evangelized. As he grew in his faith and in age, and got married, he and his wife tried other Protestant faiths, such as E-Free and Christian Reformed. But it was after many little nudges along the way, including close friends becoming Catholic, that he realized his study of history never went back farther than the Reformation, that there were many heroic men of the faith before the Reformation. When he gained clarity that there must be a final authority outside of the Bible that can help sincere Christians find the Truth when they disagree about a Bible passage, they really began seeking. It was then that the Holy Spirit and a strong sense of Christ's presence brought them to tears at a Catholic Ash Wednesday Mass, and officially launched them on their journey into the Catholic Church. Their discernment was not without many trials, objections, attacks, questionings, and doubts, but God's grace provided for them throughout. Now they are happily 'home' in the Catholic Church with their 7 children, all joining @StPatricksMN in April of 2025.
