Join me on my latest adventure Wild Camping on Loch Trool in the heart of Galloway Forest Park, one of Scotland’s most stunning natural escapes. This trip takes us deep into Glentrool, alongside the Loch Trool canoe trail where stunning rugged landscapes, and rich history meet.

Paddling across this beautiful loch, I set up camp along the shore and experience the true freedom of wild camping with canoe Scotland style – carrying everything I need and leaving nothing behind but footprints.

Whether you’re searching for inspiration for wild camping Dumfries and Galloway, looking to explore the vast Galloway Forest, or simply want to see why some call it Scotland’s unofficial Galloway National Park, this trip has it all. From peaceful paddling at sunrise to evenings around the campfire, this is wild camping at its best.

Sadly, despite the beauty of Loch Trool and the surrounding Galloway Forest Park, parts of the area have been spoiled by brainless idiots leaving human waste and damaging the landscape. Wild camping in Scotland should always follow leave-no-trace principles, but unfortunately some visitors ignore this, leaving behind a mess that ruins the experience for others and harms this precious environment - Sorry that parts of the video turned into a rant.
