On the first summer weekend of 2023 I hit the trail for a quick solo backpacking trip. The weather was a classic, mountain bag of everything, but it all worked out. For an early season backpacking trip, this is a worthwhile adventure. The trails are well groomed, there's plenty of water, and the camping is abundant throughout the loop. The trek isn't too difficult either with only 2 passes to go up and over - this is a great trip to get you out into the woods early in the backpacking season.
