“Amari and the Mountain of Echoes”

“What if a mountain could speak your thoughts back to you? Amari discovered that the words you say to yourself can lift you up—or pull you down.”

There once was a little girl named Amari who lived in a peaceful valley. She was kind, smart, and full of ideas… but she didn’t believe in herself.

Whenever she tried something new, she whispered:
Amari: “I can’t do it… I’m not good enough.”

One day, her teacher announced a big surprise:
Teacher: “Tomorrow, we will climb the Mountain of Echoes!”

Everyone cheered—except Amari. She felt her stomach twist.
Amari: “What if I’m too slow? What if I fall? What if I can’t do it?”

The next day, the class hiked together. The mountain was steep, and the rocks were big. Amari felt her fear growing.

Finally, they reached a wide open spot where the teacher said,
Teacher: “Try calling your name. The mountain will echo your voice back!”

The children shouted joyfully:
“Hello!”
“You’re amazing!”
“I love ice cream!”

The mountain echoed everything.

Amari stepped forward quietly and whispered:
Amari: “…I can’t do it.”

And the mountain echoed back:
“I CAN’T DO IT… CAN’T DO IT… CAN’T DO IT…”

Hearing her own negative words repeating shook her heart.
She thought: If I speak unkind words to myself, that’s what I’ll hear… over and over.

She took a deep breath, lifted her chin, and tried again—this time louder:
Amari: “I CAN TRY!”
Mountain: “I CAN TRY… CAN TRY… CAN TRY…”

Her classmates clapped. Amari smiled.
Then she said:
Amari: “I AM BRAVE!”
Mountain: “I AM BRAVE… AM BRAVE… AM BRAVE…”

With each word, Amari felt lighter, stronger, brighter.
She continued climbing—slowly, but confidently.
When they reached the top, the wind brushed her face like a gentle cheer.
Amari whispered to herself:
Amari: “I did it.”

Narrator:
Amari learned that confidence begins with the words we tell ourselves.
When she changed her voice from doubt to courage… everything changed.
And from that day on, whenever she felt unsure, she remembered the mountain’s echo…
“You are brave… you can try… you can do it.”
