Two days, four albums: that's the concept with which the British band Archive is coming to Berlin at the Tempodrom. The group, led by Darius Keeler and Danny Griffiths, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Over three decades, the band has evolved from its original trip-hop sound into space rock, constantly breaking boundaries. Known for their concept albums and innovative ideas, Archive has always delivered incredible musical output, often accompanied by a dynamic and ever-changing band line-up.
On their last visit to Germany, they took things a step further, touring with their own black and white film, immersing the audience in a unique experience before the concerts even began. This time, Archive will be performing four of their 15+ albums, EPs, compilations, soundtracks, and remixes. The first evening will feature their third album, You All Look The Same To Me (2002), an art rock album with ten songs and a mix of electronics. The following night will focus on their 2004 album Noise, which picks up where You All Look The Same To Me left off.
The second evening will be dedicated to the Controlling Crowds albums from 2009, which expand their style range, blending trip-hop roots with new explorations. Archive’s fans will have the chance to revisit the band's early discography in this exciting and memorable two-night experience. Anyone familiar with Archive knows that a dive into their musical past is just the beginning of a tour full of surprises.
