San Francisco Chinatown historians Cynthia Yee and Marty Lew get together to talk about their impressions and memories of Waverly Place, an alley that many consider the heart and soul of San Francisco Chinatown. Cynthia is also the founder of the Grant Avenue Follies dance troupe (www.GrantAvenueFollies.org), which pays homage to the bygone days of the San Francisco Chinatown nightclubs of the 1930s-1960s. Cynthia herself was one of the last dancers to perform at Andy Wong's Chinese Sky Room before it closed in the mid-1960s. She also curates a wonderful collection of memorabilia of San Francisco Chinatown's nightclub era at the Showgirl Magic Museum, hosted by the Clarion Performing Arts Center (www.theclarionsf.org/showgirl-magic-museum).
