In this video I use one of my knives to demonstrate how you can cut a thick branch from a downed tree with just a knife under 2 minutes. It is best done with traditional knives like scandi type of knives. The longer the blade is better. You would need to use your knife as you would with a drawknife. No batoning needed. Do not baton wood with your knife. there are different methods that you can use without risking of breaking your knife.
