Asiatic Black Bear Fights 2 Bengal Tigers - Rare Wildlife Footage

In this rare and intense encounter, an Asian black bear, also known as the moon bear, finds itself face to face with two powerful Bengal tigers.

Asian black bears (Ursus thibetanus) are surprisingly bold and adaptable omnivores. Despite being smaller than tigers, they are known to stand their ground when threatened. Their distinctive white chest patch, large claws, and surprising agility in climbing make them formidable when cornered. Males can weigh up to 200kg and are incredibly strong for their size.

Bengal tigers (Panthera tigris tigris), on the other hand, are apex predators, stealthy, fast, and devastatingly powerful. Weighing up to 260 kg and measuring over 3 meters in length, they dominate most of their habitat. However, encounters with bears are not uncommon, especially when both species compete for the same resources, such as carcasses or watering holes.

These images are taken from the documentary Wonder of It All, a 1974 nature documentary film directed by Arthur R. Dubs. They have been reworked, enhanced, and set at 50fps.
