A story the locals whisper about at gas stations and church dinners.
A story parents use to scare their kids into behaving.
In Pine Valley, that story…
is about a school.
A school that officially shut its doors in 1988.
But never really closed."
[Sound design: faint school bell ringing in the distance, echoing unnaturally]

I’m Mark Doyle... and what you’re about to hear, may change the way you think about public education... forever."
🎤 [Segment 1 – Interview: Retired Officer Charles "Chuck" Fenley]
MARK (VO): "We start with a man who’s lived in Pine Valley for 67 years. A retired cop who thought he’d seen it all… until the night of November 14th, 1997."
CHUCK:
"They told me to check it out.
Lights on in the west wing.
No big deal. Probably kids, y’know?
But when I got there... the front door?
It was open. Like… wide open.
And here’s the thing, Mark...
I could hear kids.
Inside.
Laughin'.
Singin'.
Like a damn school day at 8 PM."
MARK:
"What did you do?"
CHUCK:
"I walked in.
That’s when I knew something was wrong.
Real wrong."
📁 [Archival Audio – 911 Call, 2004]
[Sound: static-heavy audio, faint sound of a woman breathing heavily]
OPERATOR: "911, what’s your emergency?"
CALLER: "My son... he... he went inside that school."
OPERATOR: "Which school, ma’am?"
CALLER: "Valley Ridge High. The old one."
OPERATOR: "That building’s been closed for years."
CALLER: "No… no, the door was open. He said he heard a bell."
OPERATOR: "Is he still inside?"
CALLER (whispers): "I can hear… music. Children’s music. From the windows. But there’s no lights..."
[Audio cuts off sharply]
📰 [MARK VOICEOVER – Documentary Style]
"Valley Ridge High School shut down after a funding scandal in the late 80s. But over the last 30 years, over 42 sightings have been reported:
Lights turning on at night.
Children’s laughter heard from the inside.
Teachers... seen standing in windows.
But the records show:
No power.
No staff.
No students.
Nothing."
🎤 [Interview – Local Historian, Diane Moretti]
DIANE:
"The school was built in 1912.
Back then it was just one building, five classrooms.
Then came the expansions… and the fire."
MARK:
"The fire?" • The School That Never Some Doors Were Neve...
DIANE:
"April 17th, 1965.
Third-grade science class.
No survivors.
And what’s strange is…
the fire never spread beyond that room.
Like it knew where to stop."

[Voice: quiet, reading from aged paper]
“April 16, 1965.
Eliza didn't show up again.
The kids say she was ‘called to Room 3B.’
But we don't have a Room 3B.”

"Who was Eliza?
Why did the fire stop at that classroom?
And why do the locals still say...
if you hear the bell ring after dark —
never answer it?"
MARK:
