A common starter failure on a 2003 – 2007 Ford F250 Super Duty with the 6.0L Diesel Engine is the starter solenoid cap being cracked or broken during the installation of the positive battery cable to the starter solenoid B+ terminal. This could cause a no crank or intermittent no crank situation.
The following video shows the proper way the positive battery cable should be positioned on the starter solenoid B+ terminal. Also discussed are the proper torque specifications for the wiring connections at the starter solenoid for this vehicle.
