How to Catch Winter Crappie During a Cold Front Tough Bite

We go over how to catch winter crappie during a cold front tough bite.
We are fishing in early January while a cold front is blowing in with jigs on the mid lake area of Beaver Lake in Arkansas. Started the day fishing a main lake channel swing with submerged timber. The crappie were giving clues, and after several adjustments in bait size, bait speed, and bait color, we developed a good bite. Ended the day fishing standing timber at the mouth of a creek.
Garmin Live Scope is used to show fish behavior, habitat, bait action, and a few fish catches. Some tackle tips are also shared.

Water temperature in the area was 48 Degrees
Air temperature for the day started at 38° with a high of 44°.
Wind was from the NNW at 7 mph.
The sky was heavy overcast.

Rig for casting jigs
Rod - ACC Crappie Stix 10’
Reel - Shimano
Mainline - 15 lb braid
Leader - 6 lb fluorocarbon
Bobber stop - Eagle Claw 2-4 lb
Plastic bead - 8 mm (to aid with Live Scope)
Weight - #3, 5, or 7 split shot, depending on depth.
Jig head - 1/64, 1/32, and 1/16 ounce Crappie Magnet Eyehole Jigs with a variety of Bobby Garland baits.
