Gawr Gura x Casey Edwards - Ash Again Metal Cover/Screamo Remake

It's hard to believe that Gura is no more! What a beautiful way to end an era. Casey really did a great job on this song. Admittedly I can't say I've kept up with Gura over the years, but how can anyone remotely in the vtuber space not acknowledge who she is and what she's represented for so long now! Nothing but respect and looking forward to where she goes next :fish-emoji:

I had a better idea of this in my head but it highkey just started sounding like pop metal instead of screamo/emoviolence I wanted to go for.
Honestly it's up for debate if there even is a genre I'm going for. On my mind was Ostraca's sound but the way this song is written doesn't really match their sound too much. When I put my own influences from blackmetal, post rock, shoegaze, etc, it ends up deviating from my preconceptions. No need to put myself in a box.

My new mic is fantastic! I feel somewhat comfortable singing cleans with it - they sound passable unlike my previous mic. It's something I need to work on though.
Screams are fantastic. Very little correction needed. I can spend time on tasteful eq/comp instead of a shit ton of correction that butchers the sound. This mic has def. given me a lot more confidence in my voice.

Overall I had a lot of fun making this. Mixing was relatively straight forward and without headache too. Something I haven't been able to say in the past before.
