In today’s video, we take a look at PATCO’s newly remodeled Franklin Square Station! This station closed in 1979, and sat as a ghost station for decades. It also shut down and reopened multiple times before 1979 due to lack of ridership, so this isn’t the first time. In 2022, renovations began on the site and it was turned into a modern state of the art station. Due to the rising development and popularity of the area in today’s times, PATCO believes that this station will remain open for good, and ridership will be great.
The date this video was recorded, April 3rd, 2025, is the first ever day this station began passenger service since it closed. A very significant moment!
