Every sound wave can be depicted as a graphical representation.
Every point on the sound wave is a particle movement.
When there was no sound, particle was standing at equilibrium - position.
Sound energy came in - particle start going forwarded and coming backward.
Waves tells the displacement of the particle.
Y-axis - displacement of article
Maximum displacement = peak points of wave.

Characteristics of Sound - Amplitude
The maximum displacement of the medium particles from the equilibrium position or the mean position.
Amplitude = equilibrium to maximum point
1 to and fro motion is 1 wave.
1 wave = 1 oscillation .
