Practical microbiology diagnosis and management of pneumonia in ICU

Selecting empiric therapy is becoming increasingly complex and often leads to over or under-treatment. Either can negatively impact patient outcomes, with a possible increase in mortality and antimicrobial resistance in the long term.

This live interactive session will tackle insights into the microbiological diagnosis and management of pneumonia in intensive care settings and will call for your direct participation. You will be engaged in discussion during the lecture and your input will be asked during the clinical case demonstration.

Be aware of molecular rapid identification methods existing.
Understand what patients will benefit from Rapid Multiplex PCR.
Understand how to use the results of these tests and act on the anti-infective management of these patients.
