Wood Working - Classic Juniper Walking Stick with Spiral Cut Hand Grip

Welcome back. My son found this piece of juniper on the island headed for the fire, but he knew I was looking for one. It was just right. This piece maybe a hundred years old with tight grain slow growth pattern and no rot in the core. I like juniper for walking sticks because of the brilliant purple colors it displays. This started out about 3 inches at the thick end, so it took a lot of work to bring it down in size to be practice to carry on a hike. I added the spiral cut for details and plan to add a strap and other details in the future.
