In this art project I explore approaches to mark-making and mixed-media design. I demonstrate how to combine water paint transfer, stencilling, drawing and a range of rendering techniques, to create a wild ocean seascape with crashing blue waves and underwater ecosystem.

‘The Wild Blue Sea’ is a complete course book on how to investigate, design and create these mixed media designs. The main project tutorial is divided into sections and comprehensively explained, with a photo and written description of every step in the making process.
As well as the main project tutorial, the course book also includes 2 x drawing inquiry worksheets featuring vintage botanical coral illustrations, a full colour reference page of coral images, a stencil cutting practice page and 3 drawing and painting worksheets on capturing ocean waves like the masters.
