Weapons & Combat:
Off hand slot
Shields & No blocking on swords
Weapon stats on tools
Attack indicator
Attack speed
Weapon special abilities
Damage indicators
Armor protection rebalancing
Protection enchant rebalancing

Potion tipped arrow types

Core gameplay mechanics:
Natural health regen now depends on saturation
Elytra (wings), have cape texture, lets players glide around

World generation:
Igloos! With a rare chance for a basement structure!

No silk touch on shears. Shears harvest spider web blocks by default
Notch apples nerfed, recipe removed
Overpowered achievement now requires eating one

Enemies & AI:
Wearing mob head conceals player from that mob type
Zombie villager professions and skins
Skeletons now strafe around as they shoot
Pathfinding fixes!
Skeleton horse traps: chance to spawn in thunderstorms
Traps activate on proximity, spawning 3-4 skeletal riders
Killing rider leaves the horse for player use
Hostile mobs no longer spawn on minecart rails
XP Orbs now circle your chest instead of your head

Passive Mobs & Villagers:
Rabbits now run from the player and are smaller, have less health, 1½ hearts
Their pelt color and pattern is affected by which biome they spawn in
Rabbits now eat all types of crops, but rather than destroy them them one stage less grown
Horses will stop accepting food once at 0 temper and 100% likely to tame
The default wolf collar color has changed from orange to red
Pets dying now always show a chat notification
New snow golem type, shearing head off
Villagers no longer sell eyes of ender, instead sell ender pearls
Villagers no longer slam doors endlessly while trying to move in or out

Blocks:
Trap doors no longer require a block
No flowing water texture next to glass in water
Landing on hay bales when falling causes less fall damage
Grass path block!

Boats:
Can be made in all kinds of wood
Oars and rowing animation
Can now have a passenger
Don't instantly break on contact
Can now be used on land

Redstone & Mechanisms:
Block collisions fixed, item elevators broken
Blocks moved by pistons no longer have glitchy collisions, breaking shifting floor farms
Piston heads now pull entities in
Redstone hitbox now depends its connections

Sounds:
Lots of new sounds!
Subtitles!

World Creation:
World thumbnails
World version numbers
Edit world screen
The Void superflat preset & The Void biome
Spectate button when dying in hardcore

Command Blocks:
New command block types: inpulse, chain, repeat
Conditional command blocks
Needs redstone/always active
Tab completion in command blocks

F3 & F5:
Camera doesn't auto-switch back out of F5 mode anymore.
F3 function list on F3+Q.
