The highly anticipated 5th and final season of Stranger Things has finally dropped and it's.... conflicting.
From a small show in 2016 to a sprawling epic end in 2026, the show rapidly became Netflix's flagship series, despite the stagnant releases after Season 2. A rare case where we got to witness the characters grow with the actors, considering they were all cast as children back in that original season. Despite the intention for it to be a limited series, the success meant it was impossible not to expand, with bigger budgets, bigger stories, the show grew into something different, for better or for worse.
This video essay I discuss the pros and cons of this shows expansion as well as talking about the finale specifically and how, in my personal humble opinion, sucked pretty badly.
