In The Sims 2, Alien pregnancy is a base game feature.
For a Sim to become pregnant with an alien baby, they first have to be abducted by aliens. Both male and female adult Sims can get abducted when stargazing with the Farstar e3 telescope at night , but only male Sims with at least 5 days until they become elders can have alien pregnancy. After 3 Sim hours, the abducted Sim will return. And the lullaby will announce that the Sim is already pregnant. 25h after the abduction, the Sim will expand in their belly and change in maternity clothes. The Sim will get days off work and their walk will also change. Alien Pregnancy is treated like a regular pregnancy. On Their last trimester, the Sim will get into labor and birth an alien baby

Sims 3
Alien Abduction and Alien pregnancy returns with The Sims 3: Seasons. To increase the chance of alien abduction, the Sim can stargaze through a telescope between the hours of 12 am and 3 am and have space rocks in their inventory. When an abduction occurs, multicolored lights will appear on the lot and a UFO will appear with a blue beam lifting the Sim up. After a short time, the Sim will return with the Alien. A young adult, adult, or elder male Sim has a 33 %chance of returning pregnant.
The Sim will progressively gain weight and go from this to this in 42 hours. The Sim will not get maternity clothes or time off work, because the Sim is not treated as a pregnant Sim, but a Host. So every rule for pregnant Sims doesn't apply to Alien Pregnancy. When it's time to give birth, you can choose to send the baby away or raise it. Sims can only give birth at home, and not in the hospital.

Sims 4
In The Sims 4, Alien abductions and Alien pregnancy were introduced with The Sims 4: Get to Work. Sims in the science career are more likely to be abducted. You can contact aliens with the Out of this World Desktop or the satellite dish. Having space rocks also helps. If your Sim has level 7 Logic skill, they can "Search for Truth" on the observatory to increase chances even more. Between 10:00 PM and 4:00 AM your Sim can get abducted by aliens when they investigate a light and will be be beamed up into a UFO. Their needs will remain stable during abduction. After few hours, the Sim will be returned. while anyone can get abducted, only males have a 25% chance of returning pregnant with an alien baby. If the Sim carries an alien baby, they'll have the "Weird Tummy Ache" moodlet. Alien pregnancy is treated as regular pregnancy and lasts 72h, occasionally, a green light will emanate from his belly. The third trimester usually lasts a day and when the baby is ready, the Sim will go into labor. Unlike The Sims 3, Sims in The Sims 4 can have the baby at the Hospital and also at home.
