Well the time has finally come I have the 3L lzo duramax on my towing loop and I am very excited to see how this engine performs while being strapped to my 8,000lbs trailer going through the apalanchian mountains.

first on our acceleration test we saw that this 3L duramax is not the fastest engine but I also tried to explain that will this diesel not wanting to rev as high as the gasoline engine the truck needs to shift gears more frequently which means our acceleration is just not going to be as fast but once we got on the highway and started pulling some hills with this load the 3L duramax showed its strengths.

having all that torque output this engine did not need to rev as high keeping the engine RPMs very in control and kept up with our top engines on the towing loop.

lastly and very impressively was the fuel economy this diesel pulled very well but was also by far the most fuel efficient engine I've towed with so you are sort of getting the best of both worlds!
