Moab's Hell Revenge Trail: 4x4 Off Roading Episode 5

Hell's Revenge is a 6.5-mile loop with views from the LaSal Mountains to Arches National Park. It also includes views of the Colorado River canyon and the Moab valley. Wide open spaces and slickrock climbs make this trail impressive visually. There is no loss of excitement regarding two of the trail's most famous obstacles.

Key Obstacles:

Escalator to Hell– This trail includes a multi-tiered climb up a narrow, V-shaped notch in the slickrock. The best path twists and turns to avoid the bottom of the notch, sometimes requiring drivers to press their tires against the sides. At other points, drivers may experience one of the front tires lifting off the ground.

Hell's Gate presents a more challenging climb with its steep chute that narrows and becomes even steeper as you ascend. As you approach the top, choosing the correct line is crucial. Highly recommended to have a spotter. Missing the correct line could lead to a series of potentially dangerous rolls down to the bottom.

SlickRock Climbs occur in many sections of the trail. When wet, these can become an unforeseen obstacle.

Hot Tubs- Dive in the water's well. If there's water, it's cold. These "Hot tubs" are in many places, and be aware that some are on private lands just off the trail.

This trail demands skill, careful line selection, and a well-equipped rig. Wet conditions make it even more extreme.
