What is Social Work as a Profession | Careers in Social Work in 2026

Hey Social Workers...this is a video that I probably should have created last year...but that's ok. So because my goal to have my channel be a trusted resource for Social Workers in 3 key phase of their careers, I wanted to make sure that I created a video about What is Social Work as a Profession. The Social Work profession is projected to grow by 800,000 new Social Workers according to the NASW (National Association of Social Workers). To me, this means you want to learn what your skills and interests are, what values you hold and to determine the impact that you want to make in the world!

A lot of people have different ideas and misconceptions around what social workers do, and I hope this provides clarity. We work at the micro, mezzo and macro levels of social change. In the video I mentioned a resource that will be very helpful to you. I 've included the link below.
