MUSICIAN ADVICE / WHAT BANDS CAN LEARN FROM NEW YORK / MUSICIANS VLOG

Musicians from all over the world aspire to the same thing, to have a career in music or sign a record deal, tour the world and spread their music to new audiences. Most musicians don't have the opportunities which come from living in cities like New York, Nashville, London, or Coventry and don't get to see the amount of noise and competition around the unsigned band scene on a daily basis.

This week I have travelled to New York and then on to Nashville before returning to New York which is where this is being written from a hotel overlooking Madison Square Gardens. While NYC is brash and loud it's difficult not to be inspired by its impressive size and power. Musicians can definitely learn from it's ambition and how to think big, a city that develops and evolves every day and is always moving forward trying to better itself and grow at all costs. It's need to be the best and will not stop until it achieves its goals.

If New York was an unsigned band it would be unstoppable, not because it's the biggest but because of the way it thinks. It would be a band that worked harder, learned quicker and never made excuses while moving forward and growing every day.

It might not be everyones cup of tea but there is a lot to be respected and learned from such an impressive place.
